Recent works with Unsubscribe NYC LLC
Unsubscribe NYC LLC is the company I co-own with Paul Pissarro, working where art, technology, and business meet. I commission or build every artwork and artifact we release, and architect the technology they run on. Below is the work: the Church of Conceptual Art, the company's editioned projects, and the independent sites built alongside them.
The Church of Conceptual Art
A church that reframes the sacred in the corporate, built as a network of sites: a doctrine, a lobby you can walk through, an afterlife you can buy into, and a glossary with a door hidden inside it.
What is the Church of Conceptual Art?
A study companion to the Church's doctrine, with study plans, a gathering called the Table of Witness, and The Oracle: a voice trained on the doctrine that answers in real time.
“The Church of Conceptual Art reframes the sacred in the corporate. It does not critique the system. It performs it — honestly, and signs its name.”
Afterlife
Passage, priced: a ticket to Heaven ($7.77), Hell ($6.66), or both. Every purchase issues a printable certificate and is written to a public, append-only register.
“Purchase now, present upon arrival — whenever that happens to be.”
Featured Recently featured at the White Box gallery in the 42nd Street–Port Authority subway station, above the A/C/E trains, with its piece Official Ballot ↗
Limbo
A swipe-deck waitlist for artists, complete with a documentation fee. It was first hidden inside The CoCA Glossary, which defines limbo as “the institutional condition of the contemporary artist — included in the catalogue, excluded from the verification.”
“Everyone is an artist. Not everyone gets in.”
The Death of IP
A death notice and countdown for Intellectual Property, set for December 10, 2028: the 80th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
“Today, Intellectual Property succumbs to the hyper-efficiency of Generative AI.”
The Lobby
The Church's front door: a pentagonal room with five corridors (CoCA USA, CoCA Worldwide, The Glossary, Limbo, and Sunny Day), with the Afterlife gate inside. Walk it with WASD, or by touch on a phone.
“A room, five corridors, and one wall that is not a wall.”
Unsubscribe LLC Projects
Editioned works and systems released under the company itself.
Radical Genealogy
An edition of 100 paintings, each beginning as a study of Camille Pissarro's formal language and executed by hand in oil on canvas. A live grid tracks every work from pre-study to finished painting, reserved or sold; each carries a 50% resale covenant.
“The lineage is the medium.”
The Genesis Artifact Collection
Ten watches encased in archival resin and etched with the CoCA mark, each bound by a perpetual covenant: 50% of gross resale proceeds remit to artists, running with the object across every transfer. Royalties enforced by physical-legal infrastructure rather than code.
“The watch is a counterfeit. The covenant is not.”
Diet Coke Oracle
A four-phase oracle (Refinery, Casting, Interpretation, Discussion) that borrows the logic of the I Ching to sharpen the question you bring to it. It runs on a Gemma model on my own computer, so it is only online some of the time.
“It is a structural refinery that borrows ancient logic of the I Ching to force a change in your perspective.”
Independent Sites
Stand-alone businesses and tools built alongside the practice.
Name of My Gallery
A contemporary art gallery for original works, limited editions, and collectible objects, each carrying a permanent 50% resale covenant. The shop stocks the CoCA Bible in softcover and leather, the Unsubscribe zine, and more.
AI Pilot License
A certification for working with AI: six modules and a proctored 60-question exam (75% to pass), leading to the Certified AI Pilot (CAIP) credential. Co-founded with Paul Pissarro.
“Operate AI like a pilot, not a passenger.”
Adversarial Wonderland
Adversarial images, “invisible costumes” that make AI classifiers misread a picture, sold as fine-art prints and everyday objects from a retro desktop-explorer storefront.
“We use the AI's own 'glitches' to make something beautiful that the AI can't control or copy perfectly.”
YourVeryOwnWeb.site
Describe a website in plain language and get real HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, committed to your own GitHub account and hosted free on GitHub Pages.
“You own the code.”
